Tree Felling - Call the experts today
Tree removal is always a last resort for us but in some instances it’s unavoidable. This would typically include trees that are dangerous, diseased or dead, and pose a possible danger to people or property. Also, trees that are growing in the wrong place and are just not deemed viable for long term retention, as it could could start causing structural damage to property.
Every tree is a unique challenge and a number of different factors will decide just how we approach its removal. Specialist rigging techniques are often used to ensure that absolutely no damage is done to property, garden or any other trees/shrubs/plants you may have in close proximity.
In some cases we will employ the use of MEWPS(cherry pickers) and cranes, which provides an efficient means of dealing with oversized timber.
Whichever method of tree removal we choose, our priorities remain the same, the health and safety of our team, and the efficient, safe removal of your trees.
We encourage customers to keep the timber and woodchippings for future use but if it’s unwanted, we are also able to remove it from site to be recycled.
Leaving a Monolith:
Whilst talking about the removal of a tree we may talk about the option of leaving a monolith. A monolith is the remaining standing stem of the tree after all the branches have been removed. We encourage customers to do this whenever it’s possible, as there are so many positives from leaving it behind. Most importantly it’s a great way of creating a habitat and homes for lots of different animals and insects. If you are worried about it looking strange or out of place I’ve known people to grow all different types of climbing plants up them and turn them into a great garden feature.
Stump Poisoning/Grinding
After tree removal you have a few different options depending on the species of tree and the location of the stump. Sometimes with certain tree species the stump will reshoot and continue to grow unless it’s either ground out with a machine, or it’s poisoned. We use Eco-Plugs which allow you to successfully poison the stump without having it leaching into the soil and damaging other trees or plants around it. Eco-Plugs also stop the poison from being congested by wildlife or animals, as it’s inserted in capsule form in specially drilled holes around the cambium layer.
If you wanted to get rid of the stump and there’s access for a machine to get to it, we can also arrange for the stump to be ground out.
